Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Product Development CAD Frame Designer to create detailed CAD models and drawings for upholstered furniture frames, including sofas, chairs, and ottomans. You will ensure designs meet specifications, production feasibility, and durability requirements while aligning with cost goals.

In this role you will collaborate with engineers, product developers, and prototyping teams to refine frames, maintain drawing libraries, and stay current with industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Furniture Design, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years CAD design experience, preferably in furniture manufacturing.
• Minimum 3 years working with upholstery frames.
• 5+ years applicable experience may substitute education.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings with dimensions, materials, joinery, and assembly instructions.
• Ensure designs meet customer specs and manufacturing standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to refine designs.
• Maintain CAD drawing library and stay updated on industry trends.
