Job summary

Shenandoah Furniture, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation, seeks a Frame Engineer in Valdese, NC to design and develop frame specifications for upholstery furniture. You’ll join the product development team reporting to the Director of Product Development and help drive quality across production.

Responsibilities include creating drawings, prototyping, and ensuring frames meet industry standards. Strong communication and 5+ years in frame design are required; cross-functional

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in furniture frame design and development.
• Experience communicating across cross-functional teams (design, quality, manufacturing, engineering).
• Knowledge of industry standards, trends, and safety related to furniture frame construction.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings for upholstered hardwood/CNC frames using Solid Edge and AutoCAD.
• Develop prototypes and collaborate with plant operations to test frames to meet quality standards.
• Approve frames for first production runs.
• Research market trends, technologies, and strategies to enhance frame quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing, and engineering to integrate frames into production.
• Create detailed drawings for poly specifications and manage lifecycle of specs.
• Record and maintain specifications, blueprints, and processes.
• Modify existing frames to improve production efficiency and quality.
• Provide technical support to address production challenges.
