Job summary

Ghafari Associates in Michigan is seeking a Structural Designer to support day-to-day design and analysis under supervision. This role involves applying engineering fundamentals to design structural framing systems and components for construction documents.

Candidates should have a Civil/Structural background, E.I.T is preferred, and at least 3 years of related experience. Proficiency with Risa, RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, Bluebeam and Revit is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• E.I.T preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience in the structural engineering field.

Responsibilities

• With direction and assistance, formulate design and/or analysis of structural framing systems and perform necessary calculations
• Conduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditions
• With direction and assistance, prepare construction documents and communicate with other disciplines to produce a well-coordinated set of construction documents
• With direction and assistance, coordinate with other disciplines for clash detection and load determination.
• With direction and assistance, review shop-drawing submittals to assure design intent is met
• Maintain project files containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference material, and other items
• Perform related duties as assigned
