Job summary

Ghafari Associates seeks a Structural Engineer to design and coordinate structural systems for diverse projects. You will work under supervision to produce well-structured construction documents and perform calculations, with emphasis on code compliance and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires at least 4 years in structural engineering, professional registration, and proficiency with RISA/ETABS or SAP2000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Professional registration is required.
• Minimum 4+ years of related structural engineering experience.
• Experience with structural analysis software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep current with latest code publications and apply in everyday analysis as applicable
• Formulate design and/or analysis of structural framing systems and perform necessary calculations
• Perform basic engineering analysis including lateral design with limited guidance.
• Conduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditions
• Ability to prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications to comply with company standards.
• Communicate with other disciplines to produce well-coordinated construction documents
• Review shop drawing submittals to assure design intent is met
• Maintain project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference material, etc.
• Communicate scope changes to Manager of Structural Engineering and Project Manager
• Use available structural computer programs to enhance productivity and verifies results with manual checks
• Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values
• Assist interns with day-to-day tasks.
• Performs related duties as assigned
