Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Structural Designer to join the team in a role that focuses on establishing and maintaining standards and tools for BIM-centric structural design. The candidate should have strong Tekla experience and a background in CAD-based modeling for foundations and steel structures.

The position supports collaboration with Structural Design Engineers and may be based in Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design (CAD).
• Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
• Leadership to monitor peers and mentor less experienced designers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design group members to review and exchange project information.
• Check design for consistency, safety, and operability before submission.
• Gathers information and collaborates with engineers to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
• Mentor team members in design and modeling techniques.
• Leverage BIM to create plans, drawings, and details.
