Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Structural Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of structural design experience, preferably using Tekla, with a focus on BIM.

A 2-year technical CAD program is preferred, and experience mentoring junior designers is valued. The role supports multiple North American projects, collaborates with engineers and other disciplines, and offers growth by establishing and improving standards and tools within the drafting

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year tech school CAD degree with BIM focus; Tekla experience preferred.
• At least 5 years of structural design experience, preferably using Tekla.
• Ability to mentor less experienced designers and coordinate with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design group team members to review and exchange project information.
• Checks design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.
• Mentors other team members in design and modeling techniques.
• Gathers required information and collaborates with engineers to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
