Your Job

Georgia-Pacific’s Discrete Manufacturing Engineering Group is seeking qualified professionals for our Structural Designer opportunity. The Structural Designer will perform Computer Aided Design work to assist in constructing new or existing assets. This role requires knowledge of structural drafting and design principles, practices, and procedures. Under the direction of Engineers, they will design and produce construction documentation using tools like Revit and Autodesk. The candidate should also contribute to process improvements and foster a positive team culture.

This position is based at our Atlanta Headquarters with travel to sites as needed.

What You Will Do

• Transform concepts, sketches, or designs into suitable designs using 3D CAD for manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with Engineers, Project Managers, Plant Personnel, and third parties.
• Design and detail projects through various development stages.
• Collaborate with Structural, Mechanical, and Project Engineers.
• Take ownership, learn from peers, be accountable, and contribute ideas.
• Manage integration between structural and mechanical designs, including CAD software and libraries.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience with Structural drafting and design for facility projects.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

What Will Put You Ahead

• 15+ years of 3D CAD experience.
• Experience in Structural Engineering Design in industrial settings.
• Design, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Vault, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, and Plant 3D.
• Experience with Point Cloud data modeling.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
