Job summary

The City of New York seeks Civil Engineering Interns for BEDC in Lefrak Office, Queens. Under a Lead Design Engineer, you will assist in designing and constructing major water and wastewater facilities, preparing drawings, calculations and specifications for capital projects.

You will gain hands-on experience with site civil, structural, and BIM/CADD workflows, while expanding skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and finite element tools.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college.
• Permanent Civil Service status or successful DCAS Civil Service Exam (Exam No. 6116) eligibility.
• Familiarity with contract drawings, shop drawings, field inspections and investigations.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit preferred; basic BIM/CADD familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering drawings, calculations and specs for large projects.
• Support design and construction phases with document preparation and reviews.
• Review shop drawings and RFIs; assist in change order documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers and stakeholders to support project delivery.
