Job summary

EXP is seeking a Structural Design Intern to join our Building Structures team in the Chicago office. You will assist with analyses, surveys, and documentation of structural systems for various buildings and materials, working under a Director of Building Structures.

The role emphasizes proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, collaboration across disciplines, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.

Qualifications

• Studying Structural Engineering from a US accredited university; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proficient with structural analysis software.
• Experience with existing structures, building modification or restoration is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; REVIT highly preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office; strong communication skills.
• Able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and collaborate on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with a wide variety of structural analysis and design software.
• Conduct existing surveys and document the main structural systems and existing connections.
• Perform analysis and design of structural systems for a variety of buildings and materials using building codes.
• Assist in the direction, coordination, planning, and completion of projects with in-house staff as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
