Job summary

Parsons seeks an aspiring Structural Design Intern to join our team in Tampa, FL. You will provide drafting and design assistance for a wide range of projects, from report stage through design and construction administration, while gaining hands-on experience in engineering plans and specifications.

You will work under guidance, follow standards, perform field work as needed, and coordinate with engineers and designers to deliver cohesive designs.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting and design assistance for a wide variety of projects, from report stage through design and construction administration.
• Become familiar with engineering plans and specifications and assigned software.
• Follow production guidelines and project standards in the department drafting standards manual.
• Approach tasks with an open mindset.
• Perform field work under direction of others.
• Collect and prepare data for evaluation.
• May occasionally interpret general designs prepared by engineers or designers to complete minor details.
• Coordinate with other technicians, designers, and engineers to complete details and ensure a cohesive design.
• Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports.
• Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals.
