Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Structural Design Engineer II to own design engineering of metallic structural components for the New Glenn program. You will work on drawings, specs, and MRB analyses to support safe, reliable spaceflight.

The role requires 2+ years in aerospace/defense, expertise in 3D CAD (Creo), GD&T, and experience with material selection and manufacturing techniques. Travel to support integration may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical/structural design for aerospace/defense.
• Experience with material selection and manufacturing techniques.
• Strong 3D CAD design skills and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Willingness to travel and support off-hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Own design engineering of metallic structural components, including drawings and specs.
• Interpret models, drawings, specs, work instructions, and test procedures for MRB assessments.
• Support integration activities across disciplines and resolve roadblocks.
• Identify and implement stage integration improvements for hardware.
• Manage release and lifecycle of engineering artifacts across fabrication, assembly, verification, test, and operations.
