Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Windsor, CT is seeking an Engineer I for the Structural Design & Analysis Group. You will perform calculations for reactor components and apply the ASME Code to design and analysis, reporting to the Director of Reactor Component Engineering in a hybrid work environment.

You will qualify designs using ANSYS-based FEA and collaborate with systems, manufacturing and component teams to ensure safe, reliable, and timely deliverables.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or alternate degrees with relevant experience.
• Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench.
• Familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical (APDL).
• 0+ years of experience (acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Accomplish design and analysis plans from preliminary through final design using performance and structural requirements.
• Qualify component designs using ANSYS-based thermal and structural FEA, closed-form methods, and internal codes.
• Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to ensure subsystem integration and resolve issues.
• Deliver high-quality engineering work meeting safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
