Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township, PA is seeking an Engineer I in the Structural Design & Analysis Group to perform calculations for reactor components and apply the ASME Code to design and analysis.

You will report to the Director of Reactor Component Engineering and work in a hybrid capacity, collaborating with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to deliver compliant engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; alternate degrees with relevant experience accepted.
• Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench; familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical (APDL).
• 0 or more years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Accomplish design and analysis plans from preliminary through final design, translating requirements into compliant engineering solutions.
• Qualify component designs using ANSYS-based thermal and structural FEA, analytical methods, and internal codes.
• Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to ensure subsystem integration and resolve design and production issues.
• Deliver high-quality engineering work that meets safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
