Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Design Engineer to join a growing team supporting construction processes for power generation projects. You will perform innovative design work, review structural calculations, develop plans, and schedule tasks to meet client needs while mitigating risk for safe field execution.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in civil/structural/architectural engineering.
• At least 5 years of structural design experience.
• Experience in the power industry or industrial markets preferred.
• Proficient with engineering software: SAP2000, SAFE, Mathcad.
• Familiar with ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for assigned structures, including lateral force-resisting systems, analysis, and drawings for power generation projects.
• Apply department and industry standards to calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Meet EPC, RFP, and contract requirements or client expectations.
• Research new markets and adapt processes to deliver project outcomes.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams, construction, vendors, fabricators, and owners.
