Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a mid-level Structural Design Engineer to support design and analysis for power generation projects. You will develop structural plans, perform calculations, and ensure compliance with industry standards across EPC contexts.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering education, 5+ years in structural design, and strong communication skills. PE preferred; office locations include multiple cities with full-time employment and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year program.
At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering and design.
Experience in the power industry or industrial markets is preferred.
Licensure as a Professional Engineer is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

Prepare designs for assigned structures including research, selection of lateral force resisting system, analysis, and drawing preparation for power generation projects.
Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, project drawings, and project specifications.
Understand and meet EPC contracts, customer RFPs, and other contractual requirements.
Coordinate with internal and external partners to address structural-related issues.
Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets.
