Job summary

Mi-Tech Services, Inc., Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Design Engineer - Structural to design temporary and permanent structures for utility, infrastructure and heavy civil projects. You will develop calculations, design and shop drawings, and support bids with preliminary evaluations.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree (0–2 years) with FE exam; Master’s preferred; proficiency in Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD and FEA; valid driver’s license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and 0–2 years minimum of experience in the design of temporary works, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects.
• Masters degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures preferred.
• Successful completion of the FE exam
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and Finite Element Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design a wide variety of temporary and permanent structures for utility, infrastructure and heavy civil projects.
• Develop calculation submittals and shop drawings; support bids with preliminary evaluations.
• Coordinate with design and field teams and assist senior engineers as needed.
• Support other engineers and contribute to project pursuits and analyses.
