Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions seeks a CAD Drafter in MA to create precise 2D drawings and 3D models for structural steel, machinery, and fabrication projects. You will translate field measurements and customer requirements into practical, fabrication-ready designs, supporting project teams through design, fabrication, and installation.

You will work closely with leadership, fabricators, welders, and field crews to ensure accuracy, constructability, and timely delivery, while maintaining documentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical CAD training preferred.
• 1–3 years of CAD drafting or related experience in steel fabrication or industrial settings.
• Experience with 2D/3D drafting and fabrication drawings; ability to read drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and structural detailing is a plus.
• Proficient in reading field measurements and incorporating site conditions into designs.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and related tools.
• Develop shop, assembly, and fabrication drawings, layouts, and BOMs.
• Translate project specs and field measurements into constructible designs.
• Perform field measurements and revise drawings based on site conditions.
• Coordinate with project leadership, fabricators, welders, and field crews.
• Maintain drawings, revisions, and project documentation throughout the lifecycle.
