Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions in Massachusetts seeks a CAD Drafter to create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for structural steel, machinery platforms, conveyors, and industrial equipment. You will translate field measurements and customer requirements into fabrication-ready drawings, supporting design through installation.

You will collaborate with project leadership, fabricators, welders, and field crews, perform field measurements, revise designs, and contribute to material selection and design

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical CAD training preferred.
• 1–3 years of CAD design, drafting or related experience.
• Experience with steel fabrication, structural steel, industrial equipment, or similar environments.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D drafting software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ability to learn others.
• Ability to interpret 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and related software.
• Develop shop, assembly, installation, and fabrication drawings and BOMs.
• Design components and systems for structural steel and industrial equipment.
• Translate project specifications and field measurements into constructible designs.
• Perform field measurements and revise drawings based on conditions and feedback.
• Coordinate with project teams to support fabrication and installation needs.
