Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a CAD Drafter to support field operations in Southbridge, MA. You will create 2D drawings, 3D models, and fabrication drawings for structural steel, machinery platforms, and conveyors, translating field measurements and customer requirements into practical, fabrication-ready designs.

The role collaborates with project leadership, welders, fabricators, and field crews, detailing materials, revisions, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical CAD-related education preferred.
• 1–3 years CAD design or drafting experience preferred.
• Experience with steel fabrication, structural steel, or industrial equipment preferred.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 2D/3D design software; ability to learn more tools.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and related software.
• Develop shop, assembly, installation, and fabrication drawings and BOMs.
• Translate project specs and field measurements into constructible designs and fabrication-ready drawings.
• Perform field measurements and revise designs as needed throughout projects.
