Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions seeks a CAD Drafter to create precise 2D drawings and 3D models for structural steel, machinery, and fabrication projects. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in CAD design preferred.
• 1–3 years CAD drafting or related experience in steel fabrication or industrial equipment preferred.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software; ability to learn additional programs as needed.
• Ability to create/interprete 2D drawings, 3D models, fabrication/shop drawings, and BOMs.
• Experience with welding symbols, structural steel detailing, and industrial installation practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, and fabrication designs using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other design software.
• Develop shop, assembly, installation, and fabrication drawings and BOMs.
• Design components for structural steel, machinery platforms, mezzanines, conveyors, and supports.
• Translate specifications and field measurements into practical design solutions.
• Perform field measurements and revise designs based on conditions and feedback.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Fabricators, Welders, and field crews to support fabrication and installation.
