Job summary

AVCON, INC. in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Structural Designer to support engineers in creating construction documents with Revit and BIM tools.

You will produce coordinated structural drawings and work with consultants to resolve issues on projects including public facilities, commercial buildings, bridges, and infrastructure. Ideal candidates have at least three years of structure drafting experience, proficiency in Revit, and familiarity with AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in structural engineering drafting and design support.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (structural focus) required.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus and BIM coordination processes are preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D BIM models for structural systems.
• Develop and refine structural drawings, plans, sections, and details.
• Update plans and models based on redlines and revisions.
• Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, mechanical, and civil models.
• Assemble drawing packages for permitting, bidding, and construction.
• Ensure adherence to CAD/BIM standards and project requirements.
• Organize drawing files and maintain version control.
• Participate in internal quality control reviews.
