Job summary

AVCON, INC. in Niceville/Fort Walton Beach, Florida is seeking a Structural Designer to support engineers in producing coordinated drawings using Autodesk Revit.

You will create 3D BIM models and refine plans, working closely with consultants to ensure accuracy and project success. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality, coordinated structural plans for public facilities, commercial buildings, bridges, and infrastructure while adhering to AVCON's CAD/BIM

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in structural engineering drafting and design support.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (structural focus) required.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination processes (clash detection, model collaboration) preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D BIM models for structural systems including concrete, steel, masonry, and timber.
• Develop and refine structural drawings, plans, sections, and details in coordination with engineers.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, mechanical, and civil models to resolve conflicts and support coordination.
• Assemble drawing packages for permitting, bidding, and construction with adherence to project requirements.
• Maintain CAD/BIM standards and organize drawing files with version control.
• Participate in internal quality control reviews to reduce errors across packages.
