Job summary

AVCON, INC. in Orlando, FL seeks a Structural Designer to support engineers by producing coordinated structural drawings using Autodesk Revit and BIM tools for projects including public facilities, commercial buildings, bridges, and infrastructure.

You will refine drawings, coordinate with architects and consultants, maintain CAD/BIM standards, manage drawing packages for permitting and bidding, and participate in quality control reviews to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• Minimum three years of structural drafting experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (structural) required.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination (clash detection) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D BIM models for structural systems (concrete, steel, masonry, timber).
• Develop and refine structural drawings, plans, sections, and details in coordination with engineers.
• Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, mechanical, and civil models to resolve conflicts.
• Assemble drawing packages for permitting, bidding, and construction, ensuring completeness.
• Maintain CAD/BIM standards, templates, and project-specific requirements throughout design.
