W3Global is seeking an experienced structural and architectural steel welder and installer for our Bay Area projects. The role involves precise welding, layout, and fabrication on high-end residential builds, with opportunities to grow in a technically complex environment.

Requirements include 5+ years welding, ability to read drawings, and certification in SMAW/FCAW is a plus. Expect travel to various San Jose-area sites and Monterey, with full-time on-site work and benefits.

Qualifications

• CNC plasma cutting machines experience is a plus.
• Ability to read architectural/structural/fabrication drawings.

• Familiarity with welding machines, shop and lift equipment.
• Familiarity with torches, punches, grinders, drills and other power tools.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Reliable, on-time with strong work ethic.
• Able to work at heights.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Clean DMV.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and certified structural steel and architectural steel welder and installer. We are an established and premier, high-end residential construction builder that services the Bay Area from San Francisco down to Monterey. • Minimum 5 years welding experience
• Experience with multiple welding element processes
• Certification in shielded metal arc welding, Flux Core Welding, fillet, groove, plug welds is a plus
• Operating and programming CNC plasma cutting machines is a plus.
• Ability to accurately read architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings
• Accurate material preparation, layout, calculations and measurements
• Knowledge of steel erection and field welding.
• Able to work with a variety of metals.
• Familiarity with various welding machines, shop and lift equipment
• Familiarity with the use of torches, punches, grinder, drills and other power tools
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Accountable, on time, and have exemplary work ethic

Position Responsibilities

• Provide accurate layout, assembly, and welding while utilizing knowledge of geometry and an understanding of various metal properties, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
• Responsible for all aspects of fabrication and installation
• Familiarity with equipment to facilitate loading and unloading of steel materials on and off job sites.
• Commitment to taking care of company tools, equipment, and personal tools
• Ability to work in all positions and in varying conditions
• Identify all safety risks and requirements
• Must be a team-player and support all coworkers
• Familiarity with general construction equipment, tools and components
• Regular travel to and from jobsites located throughout San Jose, the mid-peninsula, San Francisco, and Monterey.
