Job summary

Weller Metalworks USA in Libertyville, IL, is seeking an experienced welder to join our 2nd shift team. You will switch between TIG for finesse and MIG for speed to transform prints and layouts into finished assemblies.

The role requires reading weld symbols, setting up components in jigs, performing tack, vertical, and overhead welds, and ensuring quality per our processes. You must pass a weld test administered by a CWI.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on MIG and TIG welding experience.
• Ability to pass welding test administered by a CWI.
• Skilled at reading prints, weld symbols, work instructions, and layouts.
• Able to stand for full shift and lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Translate work orders, diagrams, and layouts into accurate setups and welds.
• Fit and secure components in jigs/fixtures; clamp per layout references.
• Choose equipment and settings aligned with specifications and material thickness.
• Run GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) processes with consistent quality.
• Perform tack, vertical, and overhead welding as required.
• Inspect completed welds for bead size, profile, and overall conformity.
• Grind, blend, and remove slag/spatter to achieve final finish.
• Degrease and clean parts to maintain weld integrity and appearance.
