Responsibilities

Steel Fabrication and Installation

NYSFAB, Inc. is a well-established steel fabrication and installation company located on Jamaica Avenue in Queens, New York. We specialize in Steel fabrication, custom metal fabrication, and field installation for a wide range of public sector projects throughout the New York Borough.

Our projects include work for major agencies and organizations such as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), New York City Department of Transportation (DOT), Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), and other government and commercial clients.

NYSFAB provides customized metal fabrication services utilizing a variety of materials, including carbon steel, structural steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and aluminum. Our work encompasses both shop fabrication and on-site installation, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, scheduling, and meeting project specifications.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and installation, construction project management, estimating, or a related field.

The successful candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to effectively communicate with customers, contractors, engineers, fabricators, installers, and project stakeholders.

We are also willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills, a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities May Include

• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
• Prepare and review estimates, proposals, material takeoffs, and change orders.
• Coordinate structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and installation projects from start to completion.
• Communicate with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and vendors.
• Coordinate with the fabrication shop and field installation crews to ensure projects remain on schedule.
• Track project costs, materials, labor, deliveries, and schedules.
• Assist with procurement of steel, miscellaneous metals, hardware, and other project materials.
• Review shop drawings and coordinate fabrication requirements.
• Identify potential project issues and assist in developing solutions.
• Attend project meetings and conduct site visits as needed.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable codes.
• Assist with project closeout, final documentation, and billing as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, Steel, construction, project management, or estimating preferred.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Construction or fabrication estimating experience is a plus.
• Experience working on MTA, Port Authority, DEP, DOT, DASNY, or other public-sector projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication, welding, installation, and field conditions is highly desirable.
