Job summary

The specialty coordinator provides individualized, goal-directed patient care within the Stroke Program at MUHA, applying nursing processes to support safe and effective outcomes. This role partners with the health care team to lead regulatory activities, data reporting, and continuous improvement to meet Joint Commission and American Heart Association standards.

It requires collaboration across disciplines, leadership in process improvements, and effective communication to optimize patient care

Qualifications

• Assist with coordination of Stroke Program regulatory/certification activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of requirements related to stroke regulatory bodies (Joint Commission, American Heart Association).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to prioritize resources and strategize changes from regulatory findings.
• Lead process improvement efforts for the Neuroscience ICCE strategic plan and stroke guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates high standards of patient care and serves as a role model for others.
• Communicates effectively, orally and in writing; delegates appropriately.
• Facilitates optimal data management, distribution, benchmarking and reporting for the stroke program.
• Manages monthly/quarterly stroke program reports, dashboards and KPIs.
• Maintains Stroke Program intranet site and provides subject matter expertise.
