Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Stroke Program Manager to lead, standardize, and elevate our stroke care programs across our system. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients and their families while shaping the future of stroke care within a leading healthcare organization.

About the Role:

As a Stroke Program Manager, you will be the driving force behind the standardization and optimization of our stroke programs, ensuring they consistently meet national benchmarks and best practices. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive stroke program standards, strategies, and service models to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  2. Process Improvement: Identify and address gaps in current practices, leading the development and implementation of quality improvement plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Your strong analytical skills will be crucial in interpreting data and driving data-informed decision-making.
  3. Operational Excellence: Oversee the daily operations of our stroke programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, certifications, and accreditations. This includes managing budgets, supervising staff, and coordinating resources across multiple sites.
  4. Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including clinical leadership, hospital staff, and community partners. You will be a key communicator, presenting findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  5. Community Engagement: Represent VMFH as a stroke program liaison within our communities, participating in outreach and awareness initiatives.
  6. Clinical Staff Education & Development: Educate site-based clinical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

Education / Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing and five years of related clinical work experience, including two years nursing experience in an ICU/Emergency Department setting and/or management of stroke patients that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field is preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers.
  • Completion of NIH Stroke Certification within 30 days of hire into the position.
  • Stroke Certified RN (SCRN) registration within one year of employment in the position.
