Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital seeks a dedicated Stroke Program Coordinator to join our team. This full-time role (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) offers a sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance, with occasional travel for community events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • 2 years acute care experience including 1 year in quality performance improvement.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association; Virginia RN licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates in developing and implementing a stroke education plan and continuing education programs for the team.
  • Guides clinical practice development for stroke care using current literature and standards.
  • Analyzes information to drive timely decisions and support fiscal, quality and operational goals.
  • Promotes evidence‑based practice in stroke care and coordinates across the service line.
  • Aligns resources with organizational goals and fosters leadership development among colleagues.
  • Implements data‑driven quality improvement initiatives in stroke care.
  • Communicates ideas clearly in writing and verbally to stakeholders.
  • Monitors unit financial goals and supports strategies to improve financial performance.]

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Stroke Program Coordinator to join the team. This role will be full‑time, Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance eligible. Travel is occasional for community events.

Stroke Program Coordinator Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of stroke educational plan for identified needs. Plans and implements cost‑effective stroke related continuing education programs for team members.
  • Guides stroke clinical practice development utilizing current literature and professional standards.
  • Identifies issues and opportunities, effectively analyzing information and its implications and makes appropriate, timely decisions based on analysis. Effectively analyzes data resulting in appropriate fiscal, quality service and operational objectives.
  • Promotes evidence-based practice in the care of patients and families within stroke service‑line and practice settings.
  • Aligns resources to achieve relevant strategic organizational goals and inspire others to attain them.
  • Seeks leadership opportunities and facilitates leadership development among colleagues.
  • Utilizes appropriate quality improvement methodology to develop and implement data driven clinical quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promotes excellence in stroke patient care and achieve departmental or organizational objectives through an ability to effect change.
  • Presents ideas and information in a concise, timely effective and interpersonally appropriate manner through written and oral forms.
  • Monitors financial goals of the unit and implements strategies that enhance financial performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • Experience: 2 years of acute care experience to include 1 year of quality performance improvement experience
  • Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association; Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 5 years as an RN. Recent ED or critical care experience.
  • Certification: ACLS from American Heart Association; specialty certification (ED, critical care, neurology)
