Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Stroke Program Coordinator for a full-time, Monday–Friday role in Northern Virginia. This position offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance and involves occasional travel for community events.

The department supports a team-driven environment focused on advanced stroke care. Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Virginia RN licensure with BLS, and at least 2 years of acute care experience including quality

Qualifications

• RN license in Virginia (BLS)
• 2 years of acute care experience including 1 year of quality/performance improvement experience
• Stroke specialty certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements stroke educational plans for identified needs
• Guides clinical practice using current literature and standards
• Analyzes data to support fiscal, quality, and operational objectives
• Promotes evidence-based practice in stroke care
• Aligns resources with organizational goals and inspires others
• Leads leadership development among colleagues and teams
• Uses quality improvement methods to drive data-driven initiatives
• Communicates ideas concisely in writing and oral form
• Monitors unit financial goals and supports strategies to improve performance
• Performs additional duties as assigned

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Stroke Program Coordinator to join the team. This role will be full-time, Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible. Travel is occasional for community events.

Stroke Program Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborates in the development and implementation of stroke educational plan for identified needs. Plans and implements cost-effective stroke related continuing education programs for team members.
• Guides stroke clinical practice development utilizing current literature and professional standards.
• Identifies issues and opportunities, effectively analyzing information and its implications and makes appropriate, timely decisions based on analysis. Effectively analyzes data resulting in appropriate fiscal, quality service and operational objectives.
• Promotes evidence-based practice in the care of patients and families within stroke service-line and practice settings.
• Aligns resources to achieve relevant strategic organizational goals and inspire others to attain them.
• Seeks leadership opportunities and facilitates leadership development among colleagues.
• Utilizes appropriate quality improvement methodology to develop and implement data driven clinical quality improvement initiatives.
• Promotes excellence in stroke patient care and achieve departmental or organizational objectives through an ability to effect change.
• Presents ideas and information in a concise, timely effective and interpersonally appropriate manner through written and oral forms.
• Monitors financial goals of the unit and implements strategies that enhance financial performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Experience: 2 years of acute care experience to include 1 year of quality performance improvement experience
• Certification:Basic Life Support from American Heart Association; Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification: stroke specialty certification
• Experience: 2 years of recent RN experience doing inpatient/hospital-based care; strong EPIC and other hospital database proficiency
