Job summary

Goshen Intermediate School is seeking a STRIVE Paraprofessional (SN) to assist in supporting special education students within the IEP framework and regular classroom activities. Responsibilities include implementing teacher plans, monitoring progress, and providing personal and emotional support under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or higher, with options for college credits or CDA/ParaPro certification. Work hours mirror the school day with 35 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One of the following: 48 college credits or higher; CDA credential; ParaPro score 460+; or complete 10 Paraeducator modules within 2 months of employment.
• Six months to a year of related experience and/or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in caring for students' personal and emotional needs as trained.
• Implement activities developed by teachers/therapists from IEPs.
• Provide instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Collect and summarize student progress data as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Provide general supervision to students under the teacher's direction.
• Monitor students' social and vocational abilities via written documentation and observation.
• Communicate programmatic information to the teacher.
• Participate in IEP conferences when appropriate.
