Job summary

Goshen Intermediate School is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist teachers with implementing IEP-driven activities and provide personal and instructional support to students with disabilities. The role includes data collection, supervision, and collaboration with education staff to meet diverse needs.

Hours are 32.5 per week, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., with a salary of $18.00–$18.20 per hour, dependent on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
• Ability to plan and organize good work habits.
• Other qualifications that the school district may require.

Responsibilities

• Assists in caring for the personal needs of students.
• Implements activities developed by the teacher from the IEP.
• Provides instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Collects and summarizes student progress data.
• Monitors students’ abilities through documentation and observation.
• Communicates programmatic information to the teacher.
• Participates in IEP conferences as appropriate.
• Adapts classroom materials (enlarge, record, braille, tactile books).
• Facilitates communication between regular education teachers and the specialist for the disability areas.
