Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking an operator to run Lead Strip equipment at our Kansas facility. The role involves processing lead material, ensuring grinders and extruder feed continuous operation, and providing QA samples. Responsibilities

Position Summary

Operate Lead Strip equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Strip white lead off hose for reuse in white lead system.
  2. Keep white lead grinders operating at full capacity.
  3. Keep white lead extruder supplied with regrind white lead.
  4. Send hose to mandrel blow out for further disposition.
  5. Provide required samples to the QA department.
  6. Identify and eliminate known defects.
  7. Document good and non-conforming product.
  8. Correctly fill out required paperwork daily.
  9. Train new employees as needed.
  10. Detect and report problem areas or unusual conditions to supervisor.
  11. Perform related and other duties assigned by supervisor.
  12. Ability to work overtime as required, including extended shifts & weekends, to meet business needs.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
  2. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
  3. Maintain production schedules.
  4. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
  5. Other duties may be assigned at a later time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education required: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: Production work preferred but not required.

  • Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader
  • Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS

The employee may be subject to:

  • High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
  • Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
  1. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
  2. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
  3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
  4. Ability to work overtime, including short-notice overtime and weekend coverage to meet business needs.
