Job summary

Position Summary
SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is responsible for the removal of mandrel and staging of hose for the Finishing Operator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Based upon work instruction, prepare the product for processing, and apply the designated pressure for blow-out

  2. Troubleshoot removal issues to maximize quantity of production

  3. Remove excess water from processed hose

  4. Complete associated paperwork and indicate length of hose for next stage processing

  5. Transfer mandrel for next stage processing

  6. Ability to work overtime as required, including extended shifts & weekends, to meet business needs.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.

  2. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.

  3. Maintain production schedules.

  4. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.

  5. Other duties may be assigned at a later time

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education required: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: Production work preferred but not required

WORKING CONDITIONS

The employee may be subject to:

  • High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
  • Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
  1. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
  2. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
  3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
  4. Ability to work overtime, including short-notice overtime and weekend coverage to meet business needs.

The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
