SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible to conduct integrity test of hose using pressurized water. Operator will also expel mandrel from hose.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements for assembly, packaging, processing, and inspection of final product.
- Assure all necessary documents required are properly prepared and completed.
- Ensure quality by: performing quality inspections, pressure checking hose to specification requirements, identifying and eliminating known defects, assuring the final product meets customer requirements, documenting good and non-conforming product, providing required samples to the QA department, and detecting and reporting problem areas or unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Operator will prioritize job duties based on information obtained from the Work Leader/Value Stream Team Leader.

- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
- Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
- Maintain production schedules.
- Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S.
- Other duties may be assigned later.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education required/preferred: High School diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE
Production work preferred but not required.

- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge and use of hand tools.
- Sound decision making skills.
- Good math, reading, writing skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Mental and visual acuity for production of quality product.

- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS / SCOPE
- Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader.
- Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
Work Requirements: None at all. Occasional, Frequent, Continuous. Repetitions per hour: 4–6, 6–12, >12. Lift/Carry: up to 10 lbs., 11–30 lbs. Bending, twist/turn, reach below knee, push/pull, squat/kneel, stand/walk, sit – performed on a frequent basis. No lifting above shoulders.

- Standing is required for extended periods of time. Bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and grasping are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, carrying, stooping, kneeling, and lifting overhead are performed on an occasional basis.
- Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
- Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
- Operation may cause exposure to water. Wet clothes or shoes/boots is possible.
