Job summary

Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC seeks a Strings Artist-in-Residence to join our Fine Arts Department. This part-time role teaches Lower School Strings, assists Middle School Strings, and offers private violin and viola lessons across Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.

Ideal for a musician-educator passionate about working with young students in a collaborative setting. Teaching occurs on an 8-day rotation between 7:45 AM and 3:45 PM, with attendance at rehearsals and performances.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in viola and violin.
• Prior classroom teaching experience.
• Strong, professional communication and organizational skills.
• Genuine desire to work with students in Grades K-5.

Responsibilities

• Teach Lower School Strings courses to support a large LS Strings program.
• Assist with Middle School Strings courses.
• Provide private lessons in violin and viola to students across L/M/U School.
• Attend and support all rehearsals and performances for taught students.
• Collaborate with at least four other Strings Instructors and with Music, Band, and Choir faculty.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents via Ravenscroft's Fine Arts Association.
