Job summary

Helicopter Jobs is seeking a Rotor-Wing Strike Team Pilot to cover shifts at bases, support start-up and standardization of new bases, and ensure operations comply with the FARs, Part 135, and company manuals. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and strict regulatory adherence.

The ideal candidate has extensive rotorcraft flight hours, a current commercial certificate, instrument rating, and a Class II medical certificate.

Qualifications

• Must hold a rotorcraft FAA commercial certificate.
• Helicopter instrument rating required.
• FAA Class II medical certificate required.
• Extensive rotary-wing flight hours as listed in minimum requirements.
• Weight and physical requirements as stated.
• Experience with GMR Air companies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create pilot information guides with location, frequencies, and procedures.
• Provide local area orientation as required.
• Notify Regional Director of Flight Operations when flight planning info is missing or outdated.
• Operate aircraft safely and in compliance with Rotorcraft Flight Manual.
• Monitor weather and forecast changes for flights.
• Perform preflight inspections and document discrepancies for maintenance.
• Report major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injuries promptly.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regs and company manuals for all flights.
• Perform housekeeping duties and assist crew and medical staff as needed.
• Wash, wax, and clean aircraft with maintenance personnel as required.
• Submit paperwork neatly and on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Current rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate

Helicopter instrument rating

Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate

2,000 Total Flight Hours

1,500 Helicopter Hours

1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours

500 Turbine Helicopter Hours

100 hours night unaided, or 50 unaided + 100 aided

200 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM)

230 lb weight limit with flight gear

1 year experience with any GMR Air company

Pilot Incentives

Salary range $102,073 - $107,399 including 15% Geo Modifier

$12K Annual stipend

$15K Sign on Bonus, subject to eligibility

Retention Bonus plans ($40,000 after 3 years plus additional retention bonuses once completed)

Hourly position (any hours over 40 in a pay week is over time)

Job Summary

The Rotor-Wing Strike Team Pilot assists with coverage of open shifts as needed at assigned bases and provides assistance with the start-up and standardization of new bases. They are responsible for all operations involving company aircraft is in compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 135, Air Evac EMS Operations Manual and all state or municipal regulations.

Essential Functions/Duties

• Creates pilot information guide to include location, frequencies, and procedures to be used, when flying into hospitals and other EMS agencies.
• Conducts local area orientation as required.
• Informs the Regional Director of Flight Operations anytime the necessary information for flight planning is not available or up-to date.
• Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual
• Monitors forecast changes and current weather situations
• Conducts preflight of the aircraft prior to starting shift and/or accepting any transports or flights. Preflight will be conducted utilizing the appropriate rotorcraft flight manual. Discrepancies noted during the pre-flight will be noted in the engineering log with a notification to maintenance of the discrepancy and what corrective action is being taken
• Reports any major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injured personnel to Operations Center in the most expeditious manner
• Ensures that all operations involving Company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac Operations Manual, and any state or municipal regulation; thus ensuring safe, efficient transport
• Performs any housekeeping duties required to make the crew quarters and hanger area neat, clean, and presentable along with nurse, paramedic.
• Wash, wax, and clean aircraft, as needed, along with nurse, paramedic and maintenance personnel.
• Submits all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate
• Helicopter instrument rating
• Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
• 2,000 Total Flight Hours
• 1,500 Helicopter Hours
• 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours
• 500 Turbine Helicopter Hours
• 100 hours night unaided, or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours aided
• 200 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM) 50 Hours Actual in Aircraft
• 230 pound weight limit with flight gear
• 1 year experience with any GMR Air company – preferred

• EC135 Aircraft Experience
• High School Diploma/Equivalent or Higher
