Job summary

RTX is seeking an engineer onsite in Foley, AL to perform structural analyses, develop repair designs, and support MRB through formal reports. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality and efficiency across aerospace structures.

Typically requires a STEM degree with 2+ years’ experience or an advanced degree; proficiency in Patran and Python is valued, along with strong MS Office skills and clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 2 years of experience or an advanced degree.
• Experience with static stress and fatigue analysis using classical methods and FEA.
• Experience with load paths, free body diagrams, load balance, and failure modes.
• Experience using Patran or comparable finite element analysis tools.
• Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analyses using hand and computer calculations, including static and fatigue analysis of aerospace components.
• Define, assess, and document repair designs for metallic, bonded metallic, and advanced composite aerospace structures.
• Work with MRB to develop standard repair instructions.
• Analyze repair proposals and prepare formal engineering reports supporting repairs for internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities across product lines and processes.
• Communicate technical findings, risks, and decisions clearly to leadership, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
