Job summary

The City of Branson is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the Streets Division, Sign Shop, and Vehicle and Equipment Service Center. You will supervise staff, coordinate projects, and drive process improvements across municipal operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a related four-year degree or six+ years of relevant experience, and a valid Class B CDL with willingness for on-call duties and snow-route shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Six+ years of direct, full-time professional experience (may substitute for degree).
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Three years of supervisory experience in municipal public works management.
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable under City of Branson's coverage.
  • Valid Class B CDL license or obtain within six months of hire.
  • Willing to work on-call and emergency calls outside normal hours.
  • Willing to work 12-hour snow-route shifts November–March.
  • Background, drug/alcohol screenings and agility assessment required.
  • Experience developing written communications or technical documentation.
  • Municipal inspection/observation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Sign Shop operations for road signs city-wide.
  • Direct Vehicle and Equipment Service Center operations for city fleets.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Operations Manager to manage the Streets Division, Sign Shop, and Vehicle and Equipment Service Center.

What You'll Do - "A Day in the Life Of"
  • Streets Division operations, including pavement and right-of-way maintenance, mowing, snow and ice control, and drainage system maintenance.
  • Sign Shop operations, including the printing, construction, placement, and maintenance of road signs throughout the City.
  • Vehicle and Equipment Service Center operations, ensuring City vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Staff supervision, project coordination, process improvement, and response to operational needs throughout the City.
What We're Looking For:
  • A High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited four-year institution of higher learning with a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
    • Direct full-time job-related professional experience of six (6) or more years, may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in municipal public works management or closely related industry.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
  • Possession of a valid Class B CDL license or obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
    • A passing grade on the written portion of the Class A or B CDL exam is required before employment.
  • Be willing to work on the On-Call duty rotation, and emergency calls outside of normal work hours as scheduled. This will include evenings, weekends, and holidays assigned.
  • Be willing to work snow routes that include twelve (12) hour shifts during the months of November through March.
  • Successfully complete a background investigation, drug and alcohol screenings, and physical agility assessment.
Qualifications That Make You Competitive:
  • Experience developing written communications or technical documentation.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $70,000 Please CLICK HERE for the complete Compensation/Benefits information sheet

WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm; On call after hours needed
WORK LOCATION:In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; This position requires work to be performed onsite.
