Qualifications

  • US citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of applicable experience.
  • Class B CDL valid in Missouri or obtainable within 120 days of employment; CDIP within 60 days.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 90 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain streets and sidewalks, perform asphalt paving, concrete repair, joint sealing, sign fabrication and installation, and pavement marking.
  • Set up and manage work zones for traffic control and safety compliance.
  • Operate and perform minor maintenance on light and heavy equipment and power tools; drive vehicles up to Class B CDL size with air brakes.
  • Assist in snow removal to keep streets public areas accessible and safe.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Streets Maintenance Worker to support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the City's roadway infrastructure. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of hands‑on work including street and sidewalk repair, signage installation, and pavement marking. The ideal candidate brings practical experience, strong problem‑solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work that keeps our community safe and running smoothly.

Normal Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Street and Sidewalk Maintenance: Engage in general labor tasks including asphalt paving, concrete repair, joint and crack sealing, street sign fabrication and installation, and pavement marking.
  • Traffic Control: Set up and manage work zones and roadway traffic control to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and perform minor maintenance on light and heavy equipment, power tools, and motorized equipment. Operate vehicles up to and including Class "B" CDL size with air brakes.
  • Snow Removal: Participate in snow removal activities to keep streets and public areas accessible and safe.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
  • High School graduate or GED certificate.
  • One (1) year of applicable experience.
  • Must have a Class "B" CDL valid in the state of Missouri or obtain within 120 days of employment. Commercial drivers' instruction permit (CDIP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 90 lbs.
