Job summary

The City of Floresville is seeking a Streets Maintenance Worker to join the street maintenance crew. You will perform semi-skilled labor and operate tools and equipment to build, repair and maintain municipal streets infrastructure.

You will work as part of a crew performing pavement repair, drainage maintenance, stormwater work, signage installation, and related duties with emphasis on safety and quality. On-the-job training is provided and a strong work ethic is required.

Qualifications

• Basic written and spoken English language skills
• Ability to work as a team and maintain effective relationships
• Ability to respond to requests and inquiries
• Ability to perform physical requirements safely

Responsibilities

• Represents the City of Floresville in a professional manner
• Repairing concrete and/or asphalt pavement
• Maintenance and repair of storm-drain inlets and flumes
• Inspect, maintain, clean, and repair stormwater pipes and drainage ditches
• Trash & debris cleanup on streets and rights-of-way
• Creation and installation of traffic and street signs
• Barricade maintenance
• Ice & flood control
• Assists in drainage projects
• Performs duties per procedures and safety rules
• Keeps work areas clean and orderly
• Exemplifies cooperative attitude to work with others
