Job summary

The City of Allentown is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead crews in street maintenance, snow removal, and related public works tasks. You will assist the Chief Maintenance Supervisor in planning daily work, coordinating equipment and personnel, and reporting activities.

Responsibilities include supervising Equipment Operators and Laborers, enforcing safety rules, and maintaining daily records. CDL with Air Brake and Tanker endorsements is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in street construction work.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assign employees and equipment to streets department projects with supervision and direction.
• Coordinate use of equipment, materials, and manpower for efficiency.
• Inspect projects for progress and conformance to plans.
• Enforce safety rules and proper signage in work-zones.
• Schedule overtime and callout work per procedures.
• Maintain daily records and reports.
