Job summary

The City of Chandler invites qualified individuals to apply for the Street Maintenance Supervisor role within the Public Works & Utilities Department. You will oversee staff responsible for maintaining and repairing city streets, rights-of-way, alleys, and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with standards.

Candidates should have 5 years in municipal street construction/maintenance, including 2 years in leadership, plus required safety certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and some college-level coursework.
• 5 years of experience in municipal street construction and maintenance, including 2 years of lead or supervisory experience.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within 1 year of hire or promotion.
• Maricopa County Dust Control Certification within 1 year of hire or promotion.
• A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff who maintain and repair city streets, rights-of-ways, alleys, medians, storm drain systems, retention basins, parking lots, pavement preservation, and related concrete features.
• Set goals and objectives; manage schedules and work priorities; monitor performance.
• Facilitate access to resources and training; perform site visits; manage contracts.
• Provide guidance and address complex issues; conduct interviews and make hiring decisions.
