Job summary

TransCore ITS, LLC in Tampa, FL is seeking a full-time Street Lighting Electrician apprentice to learn and grow toward becoming a qualified electrician under the supervision of a journeyman.

The role covers field support, installation, maintenance, and repair of street lighting, electrical wiring, data and fiber, and pole/foundation installation, with adherence to NEC and local codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• 2 to 5 years of related electrical experience.
• CDL Class B license preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must obtain Florida SLERS security clearance.
• Ability to operate 40- and 55-foot bucket trucks and up to 80 feet when required.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and wiring of transformers, troubleshooting, cable pulling, and use of power tools and bucket trucks.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical lighting components.
• Install and mount lighting controls, devices, sensors, and related components.
• Test and troubleshoot lighting systems and circuits using testing equipment.
• Install pull boxes, conduit, street lighting poles, and foundations.
• Test circuit continuity for safety and compatibility.
• Observe equipment operation and adjust as needed; perform shifts communications.
• Move equipment and materials using hoists and tackle.
• Operate company vehicles to worksites and complete daily reports.
