Job summary

City of Graham is seeking a dependable General Maintenance Worker I to perform grounds-keeping, street and infrastructure tasks using hand and power tools. The role requires operating dump trucks, flagging traffic, and maintaining city facilities under supervision.

A valid Class B CDL and safety training are preferred. The position involves heavy manual labor in varying weather, with opportunities to grow skills in equipment maintenance and storm-water work, and a strong emphasis on safety

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general safety procedures and PPE use.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Ability to operate tablets and work order software.
• Flagger training and aerial lift certifications.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in street maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs grounds-keeping and street maintenance tasks with hand/power tools.
• Operates dump trucks and truck-mounted snow plows.
• Assists in setting up traffic control and flagging.
• Maintains streets, Storm water infrastructure, sidewalks, and city facilities.
• Performs concrete work and installs street signage and lighting.
• Loads and transports materials; performs heavy manual labor.
• Assists in vehicle/equipment maintenance and leaf collection.
