Job summary

The City of Katy is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker - Streets to join our team and help maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of City properties and public spaces. This position performs a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance duties, including mowing, trimming, irrigation support, debris removal, and general outdoor maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AND one (1) year of general maintenance experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Knowledge of landscape irrigation systems, including repair, service and/or installation, preferred.
• Operating basic landscaping equipment.
• Safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Responsibilities

• Trims trees and bushes; cleans gutters; mows and edges grass; applies fertilizer and mulch; sprays weeds; collects trash.
• Participates in City-wide emergency response; clears debris from accidents and weather events; posts advisory and warning signs, conducts traffic control as necessary.
• Performs other duties as required.
