Job summary

Wheelingwv is seeking a Maintenance Worker-Operations in Wheeling, WV. Under supervision, the role performs entry-level, semi-skilled labor across city streets, facilities, grounds, and centers to maintain appearance and safety.

Responsibilities include patching streets, removing snow, mowing grass, trimming trees, cleaning storm drains, and assisting in minor repairs. A valid driver’s license is required and prior experience is not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Patches holes in streets with blacktop, tar or slag.
• Rakes and rolls blacktop.
• Cuts weeds.
• Removes snow from steps and bridges.
• Cleans and helps repair storm drains.
• Mows grass.
• Shovels snow.
• Trims trees.
• Removes debris and litter from park and park facilities.
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance of outbuildings.
• Performs general laborer duties to maintain appearance of City streets, property, and grounds.
