Job summary

Gulfshoresal is seeking a Maintenance Worker I – Streets to perform entry-level manual labor and routine maintenance to support city streets, drainage systems and infrastructure. This role assists skilled crews with roadway repairs, debris removal, traffic control and storm response under direct supervision.

The candidate should possess a High School Diploma and be able to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of general street and roadway maintenance practices.
• Basic knowledge of work zone safety and traffic control procedures.
• Knowledge of safe operation of hand tools and light equipment.
• Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and small power equipment.
• Skilled in operating light and medium-duty vehicles, including dump trucks.
• Basic ability to complete simple work documentation and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain streets and drainage systems as part of routine operations.
• Assist with debris removal and road clearance.
• Set up and monitor work zone traffic control for daily operations and events.
• Assist with storm response and emergency roadway issues.
• Follow safety procedures and report maintenance concerns as needed.
