This high visibility position will play a critical role in the execution of the NA regional growth strategy for infrastructure. Reporting to the VP of Infrastructure Business Development, this role will be focused primarily within the Infrastructure & Commercial Products Group (ICPG) portfolio, and includes the coordination and management of critical internal projects and elements of our acquisition process with an emphasis on process support and post-close integration management.
The strategy manager will work across business units and be relied upon for effective communication throughout the organization, including with senior executives and business leads. They will serve as a key point of contact with 3rd party vendors (i.e. consultants and transaction support) where needed and represent Saint-Gobain with acquired companies and new/soon to be colleagues.
This role will move between projects, contributing to and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously. Without direct reports, they will have to utilize their skills of influence to facilitate the execution of projects which pull on resources from across the organization. On each project, they will liaise with functional workstream and business leaders to ensure efficient prioritization, tactical execution and a successful outcome. They will contribute to the development of executive communication and present to key regional stakeholders within the SG organization (and acquired company in the case of an acquisition). They will be expected to assist in the areas of conflict resolution and prioritization – helping to anticipate organizational challenges and working with executive sponsors and project team members. They will be counted on to guide both strategic and tactical conversations involving subject matter experts and technical colleagues among a wide range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities will expand from an initial focus on project management to include contributions to strategy development and project prioritization as familiarity with the business is developed and with demonstrated success. A successful candidate will be capable of identifying and evaluating strategic options, determining relevant operational constraints, defining practical timelines, quantifying financial implications and sensitivity to organizational impact. The role requires strong judgement, openness to debate, the ability to effectively navigate ambiguity and comfort with autonomy.
