Job summary

Liberty Energy is seeking a Senior Workforce Accountant to bridge Human Resources, Payroll, and Finance, ensuring accurate workforce costing, reporting, and forecasting. You will develop financial models, dashboards, and reports to inform leadership decisions and cost optimization across the organization.

This role partners with the VP of Human Resources, Controllers, Payroll, Tax and Finance teams to align workforce costs with business objectives and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Admin or related field.
• CPA, CMA or progress toward certification preferred.
• Five+ years of progressive accounting experience including payroll accounting, financial analysis, workforce planning, or related functions.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, GL reconciliations, and financial reporting; payroll and benefits accounting & equity compensation experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel including financial modeling, data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and automation.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and translate findings into actionable business insights.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to convey financial information to operational and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly reconciliations of workforce-related balance sheet and expense accounts; prepare payroll journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments.
• Reconcile and analyze wages, payroll taxes, benefits programs, 401(k) contributions and employer matching, health/deductions, deferred compensation, garnishments, and equity compensation programs.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for reconciliations and audit requirements; investigate and resolve reconciling items.
• Support internal and external audit activities related to payroll and workforce accounting.
• Assist in payroll tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Develop and maintain workforce cost reporting for HR, Finance, and leadership; monitor labor costs and headcount trends.
• Create/maintain dashboards and management reporting on workforce investments and efficiency.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through workforce data analysis.
• Partner with HR and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning; develop workforce financial models.
• Analyze financial impact of organizational changes, compensation adjustments, hiring plans, restructures, and retention initiatives.
• Assist leadership in evaluating workforce scenarios and cost implications.
• Support equity awards accounting and reporting; liaison across Legal, Tax, HR, and Finance.
• Assist with annual compensation planning analyses and workforce cost modeling; participate in special projects involving workforce optimization and acquisitions.
